About the Role

This exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head of International Tax to join our team at Boots. As a key member of our international tax department, you will be responsible for providing strategic international tax support and tax compliance for a varied portfolio of entities.

Your primary focus will be on supporting non-UK entities in advising on internal and external reporting requirements, reviewing tax calculations and accounting, assisting with tax authority enquiries and filings, and reviewing proposed transactions.

You will also be responsible for managing UK and International Withholding Tax Clearances, including the request of new clearances and renewals to ensure continuity of Treaty Clearance.

In addition, you will review tax disclosures for the Financial Statements of non-UK entities and UK corporate entities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Support the Senior Manager, International Tax on group-wide projects as applicable.
  2. Advise non-UK entities on internal and external reporting requirements.
  3. Review tax calculations and accounting for non-UK entities.
  4. Assist with tax authority enquiries and filings.
  5. Review proposed transactions for non-UK entities.
  6. Manage UK and International Withholding Tax Clearances.
  7. Review tax disclosures for Financial Statements of non-UK entities and UK corporate entities.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A qualified accountant or tax advisor with experience in a tax department of a multinational company or in one of the top 4 accounting firms.
  • Experience in UK and International tax matters.
  • Experience with tax issues relating to company financing, acquisitions, disposals, and restructuring.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
Desirable Skills

It would be great if you also have:

  • Experience in delivering cross-functional and cross-business projects.
  • Experience of the practical application of tax requirements in business scenarios.
  • Knowledge and experience of tax reporting requirements under US GAAP.
