About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Examiner to join our team at Pearson. As a Principal Examiner, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and consistency of our assessment processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the standardisation of moderators and ensure that the standards of externally assessed units/modules/components are maintained.
  • Oversee the quality assurance process and ensure that all assessment activities are carried out to the highest standards.
  • Develop and implement quality assurance procedures and protocols to ensure consistency and accuracy in assessment.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure that assessment processes are aligned with business objectives.
  • Provide training and support to moderators and other staff members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to carry out their roles effectively.
  • Monitor and report on assessment performance and identify areas for improvement.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in quality assurance and assessment practice.
  • History of moderation and/or marking a regulated qualification.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to provide and coordinate training and support to staff members.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the specification for your specialist sector, including internal and external requirements.
