Job Title: HGV Driver

We are seeking a skilled HGV driver to join our team at The Best Connection. As a Class 2 HIAB driver, you will be responsible for delivering construction materials to various sites across the Cardiff region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate a Class 2 vehicle equipped with a HIAB crane safely and efficiently.
  • Load and unload materials using the HIAB, ensuring proper handling and safety.
  • Follow delivery schedules precisely and complete all necessary paperwork.
  • Communicate effectively with site managers and clients to ensure smooth deliveries.
  • Perform routine vehicle and crane checks, reporting any maintenance needs.
  • Keep your vehicle clean and organized.
  • Adhere to all health and safety protocols, particularly when operating the HIAB crane on construction sites.
Requirements:
  • A valid Class 2 (Category C) driving licence and HIAB certification.
  • Current Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
  • Previous experience operating a HIAB crane, particularly in delivering construction materials, is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of safe loading practices and securing cargo.
  • Good geographical knowledge of the Cardiff area and ability to plan efficient routes.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work independently.
