About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Cardiology Department at Ashford and St. Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as an Administrator. As a key member of the team, you will provide administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the department.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for patients, relatives, and healthcare colleagues, providing a professional and courteous service.
- Deal with incoming and outgoing correspondence, filing, and photocopying in a timely manner.
- Ensure patient details on Cerner/Prism are correct and maintain robust patient records.
- Alert clinical staff to patient delays or concerns about a patient's presenting condition.
- Highlight incorrect or incomplete request forms to appropriate staff members and return for resubmission.
- Retrieve and file medical records and pacing notes, ensuring they are correctly tracked to the department.
- Use initiative and judgment when problems arise, taking necessary action to resolve the issue and/or refer to senior staff members.
Person Specification
- English GCSE Grade C or equivalent.
- Computer literate with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), internet.
- IT skills/keyboard skills.
- Minimum of two years administration experience.
- Experience of working in a busy office with conflicting demands.
