Highly Experienced Quantity Surveyor for Industrial Project

CSC Recruitment is seeking a highly experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established Main Contractor based in Kent.
Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 and package, including competitive benefits and opportunities for professional development and career advancement.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on a stand-alone basis on a new build industrial project based in Hertfordshire.
The contractor has been established for the last 5 years and has increased their turnover to £20 million per annum due to strong client relationships within industrial, education, health, commercial, and hotel & leisure sectors.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare detailed cost plans and estimates from inception through to project completion.
- Monitor and control project expenditure to ensure costs remain within budget.
- Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing and quality services.
- Administer contract changes and manage variations to ensure project objectives are met.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and manage any disputes or claims effectively.
- Conduct regular valuations of ongoing work, assess the value of completed work, and issue payment certificates.
- Evaluate and certify subcontractor and supplier payments.
- Identify potential financial risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Conduct risk assessments and prepare contingency plans to address any unforeseen issues.
- Maintain accurate records of all project costs, variations, and contractual changes.
- Prepare and present detailed cost reports, forecasts, and final accounts.
- BSc Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field is required.
- Extensive experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the general construction industry.
- Proven track record of successfully managing healthcare, industrial, education, or commercial projects up to £10m.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal requirements.
- Proficiency in quantity surveying software and MS Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
