We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior/Principal Associate to join our Food and Agribusiness team at Mills & Reeve.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a major UK law firm, listed as one of the Sunday Times' 100 Best Companies to Work For for the last 20 years. As a Senior/Principal Associate, you will be responsible for managing and running acquisitions and disposals of agricultural land/estates/strategic land, and will have the opportunity to develop your skills and expertise in this area.

About the Team

You will be working with a team of experienced professionals, including partners Catherine Scott, Michael Aubrey, and Amanda Tagg, who are all experts in their field. The team is part of the wider cross-office Real Estate NSL, headed up by partner Richard Hanson.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and run acquisitions and disposals of agricultural land/estates/strategic land
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and other professionals
  • Provide expert advice on agricultural property law and related issues
  • Work collaboratively with the team to achieve business objectives
  • Contribute to the development of the firm's Food and Agribusiness practice
Requirements
  • 4PQE+ experience in agricultural property law
  • Excellent technical ability and communication skills
  • Interest in issues such as food security, energy, and natural resources
  • Excellent written English and ability to produce clear, logical drafting
  • Negotiating skills and numeracy
  • IT literacy and good research skills
  • Lateral thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Enthusiasm towards building and strengthening relationships with clients and their advisors
  • Flexibility to work with several team members
  • Effective time and matter management and a systematic approach to work
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach
