Your new role at Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited involves working as a key addition to the expanding commercial team, supporting the business's continued growth. As a Commercial Accountant, you will play an integral role in driving profitability by providing cost mitigation options and regularly reviewing performance to highlight areas of concern and opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with sales, purchasing, and operations teams to develop cost structures for quoting processes.
  • Proactively identify cost mitigation options for current customers to enhance customer value and loyalty.
  • Support the commercial controller in forecasts used across the business.
  • Monitor and analyze performance to increase sales and improve profitability.
  • Provide commercial insight on market trends, pricing strategies, and competitor activity.
  • Assist in developing new business reports, KPIs, and dashboards across multiple departments.
  • Work on change projects and scenario planning to enable commercial expansion.
  • Assist with stock control management, planning, and costing.

Requirements:

  • Experience in reviewing and analyzing costs, trends, profitability, margins, estimates, and contracts.
  • Ability to liaise with all aspects of the business with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong Excel knowledge around formulas, pivot tables, and lookups.
  • Candidates studying or looking to study AAT, CIMA, or ACCA will be encouraged and supported.
