Climate Fundraising Director

Woodwell Climate Research Center is seeking a seasoned Director of Philanthropy and Partnerships to join our team. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, and soliciting major gifts from high-net-worth individuals to support our mission-driven work.

• Develop and implement a strategic plan to identify and engage high-net-worth donors, resulting in significant major gift revenue growth.
• Cultivate and steward relationships with existing donors, ensuring a high level of satisfaction and loyalty.
• Collaborate with our research team to stay up-to-date on our latest climate science findings and develop compelling proposals and reports to share with donors.
• Travel domestically and internationally to attend fundraising events, conferences, and meetings with C-level executives.
• Work closely with our marketing team to develop and implement a comprehensive donor engagement strategy.
• Manage a portfolio of high-net-worth donors, with a focus on building strong relationships and securing major gifts.
• Stay up-to-date on best practices in fundraising and philanthropy, applying this knowledge to continuously improve our development strategies.

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in major gifts fundraising, preferably in a scientific research-focused organization.
• Proven track record of success in securing major gifts from high-net-worth individuals.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with donors, colleagues, and partners.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of flexibility and adaptability.

• A competitive salary range starting at $150,000, depending on experience.
