Port Operations Specialist

Job Summary:

Stafforce Recruitment is seeking a skilled Port Operations Specialist to join our team at Tilbury Docks. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient loading and unloading of containers from vessels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work on vessels/ships to support the loading and unloading of containers
  • Responsible for working in a team environment to chain and unchain containers to the ship to secure in transit
  • Work as a Banksman, directing tug drivers on ship and ensuring the safety positioning of the team
  • Inspect tools and equipment, reporting any damages
  • Adhere to safety protocols and processes, maintaining a clean and organized work environment

Requirements:

  • Previous port experience is a benefit, but not essential as full training will be provided
  • Able to pass port-specific tests, including drug and alcohol testing
  • Hold a full UK Driving Licence and have your own transport
  • Ability to work in an industrial, high-focusing health and safety work area, and perform physical tasks
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy while on-board ship
