Job Title: Learning Support Assistant - SEMH

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a Pupil Referral Unit in Sale, Trafford. The successful candidate will work with Key Stage 3 pupils who require additional support due to Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties.

About the Role:
  • Support pupils with SEMH difficulties in a Pupil Referral Unit setting
  • Work with small groups of pupils to promote engagement and progress
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individual Educational Health Care Plans (EHCP)
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge
Requirements:
  • Experience working with SEMH pupils in a Pupil Referral Unit or similar setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
  • Knowledge of SEMH, behaviour, and safeguarding policies and procedures
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
