About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Energy System Planner to join our team in Scotland. As a key member of our Regional Energy Planning team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing regional energy strategies that support the transition to a cleaner, greener, and more affordable energy system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement regional energy strategies that align with national energy policy and objectives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including local authorities, energy distribution companies, and other industry partners, to ensure effective engagement and coordination.
  • Lead on specific energy planning work packages, including the development of regional energy plans and the coordination of stakeholder engagement.
  • Represent the National Energy System Operator's regional energy planning function at strategic level and deputise for the regional manager.
  • Engage with key regional stakeholders to understand their views and requirements and ensure that regional energy plans deliver value.
  • Design, support, and run workshops and engagement activity with the Regional Board, working groups, and other regional stakeholders to progress regional energy plans.
  • Produce and deliver clear, concise, and relevant reports and slide packs to stakeholders.
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Energy System Planner with a strong understanding of the energy sector, including technical energy knowledge and experience of working with or within local authorities and energy distribution companies. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex and technical information into easily understandable messaging for non-technical audiences.
