Operational Risk Senior Vice President Job Overview

Citi Belfast is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operational Risk Senior Vice President to join its Risk Management Team.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of operational risk within the banking industry, strong analytical skills, and the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders across the organization.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Independent oversight and assurance over the bank's operational risk management framework, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Lead and guide a team of risk professionals, providing mentorship, guidance, and performance evaluations.
  • Review and challenge the effectiveness of risk mitigation strategies and control measures implemented by the First Line of Defense (1LOD).
  • Produce comprehensive and accurate risk reports for senior management & Regulators, highlighting key risks, trends, and emerging issues.
  • Analyze operational risk data to identify patterns, root causes, and potential areas of concern.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • Significant Risk Management expertise.
  • Knowledge of Operational Processes and underlying Policies, Procedures, Regulatory requirements.
  • Proven record of delivering tangible outcomes in risk management.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze risk data, identify trends, & develop actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills through all levels of the organization.
  • Exceptional relationship management skills.
  • Ability to think strategically & develop long-term risk management plans and solutions.
