Job Summary

RH Commercial Vehicles is seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join our team in Northampton. As a key member of our workshop team, you will be responsible for maintaining commercial vehicles and trailers to DVSA standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on all vehicles and trailers to DVSA standards.
  • Diagnose and rectify any faults in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Work on your own initiative to ensure safe and efficient repairs.
  • Handle vehicles carefully and ensure all precautions are taken in the workshop or customer premises.
  • Ensure all Health and Safety regulations and company policies are adhered to at all times.
  • Keep up to date with all relevant DVSA and product developments.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to improve skills and knowledge.
  • Support and mentor apprentices in the workshop.
  • Complete work as directed by the Shift Supervisor, Workshop Foreman, or Dealer Point Manager.

Requirements

  • A broad understanding of commercial vehicles and their systems.
  • Experience in using R2C and other diagnostic tools.
  • An HGV and/or forklift truck licence is desirable but not essential.
