About the Role

Downend Health Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Lead to join our corporate services team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the financial transactions and reconciliations of the Practice, ensuring high levels of accuracy and financial probity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Management: Oversee the financial management of the Practice, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Maximising Income and Minimising Expenditure: Identify opportunities to maximise income and minimise expenditure, ensuring the Practice operates efficiently and effectively.
  • Reconciliation of Income: Reconcile income from various sources, including NHS payments, private consulting rooms, and other revenue streams.
  • Annual Budget Setting: Assist in the preparation of the annual budget, ensuring it accurately reflects the Practice's financial position and goals.
  • Financial Reporting: Produce regular financial reports, including monthly and annual reports, to provide insights into the Practice's financial performance.
  • Bookkeeping: Manage the Practice's bookkeeping system, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
  • Liaison with the Practice Accountant: Collaborate with the Practice Accountant to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, and to address any financial issues that may arise.

Person Specification

Essential

  • GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths
  • Finance/Bookkeeping qualification or appetite to work towards AAT
  • Experience of Quick books, or a similar bookkeeping system
  • Experience of detailed numerical reconciliations

Desirable

  • Experience of working with a multi-skilled team
  • Experience of working in Primary Care
