Academic Support Specialist



Job Description:

Randstad Student Support is seeking highly motivated and experienced Academic Support Specialists to work with students who require personalized learning strategies. As an Academic Support Specialist, you will work closely with students to develop customized learning plans and provide tailored support to help them achieve academic success.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop and implement individualized learning plans to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Provide one-to-one support and guidance to students to help them build confidence and independence in their learning.
  • Collaborate with students to identify areas of strength and weakness and develop strategies to improve their academic performance.
  • Assist students in creating and maintaining organizational systems to stay on top of assignments and deadlines.
  • Support students in developing research skills, including finding and evaluating sources, and properly citing references.
  • Help students to develop comprehension skills in reading and writing, including strategies for improving vocabulary and grammar.
  • Provide regular progress updates to students and their families to ensure they are meeting their academic goals.


Requirements:


  • Membership with one of the following professional bodies: British Dyslexia Association (BDA), Professional Membership The Association of Dyslexia (ADSHE), Dyslexia Guild, or The Professional Association of Teachers of Students with Specific Learning Difficulties (PATOSS).
  • Experience working with students with specific learning difficulties.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Punctuality and reliability.
