About the Role

Ferrovial Construction is seeking a skilled Health, Safety and Wellbeing Advisor to join our team at Heathrow Airport. As a key member of our project team, you will contribute to the achievement of Health, Safety and Wellbeing in accordance with company policy and values.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Support the development of a strong Health, Safety and Wellbeing focused culture across the Ferrovial Construction UK business.
  2. Contribute towards the maintenance and development of the Safety Management System (SMS) and its procedures.
  3. Advise on and coordinate the development of consistent Health, Safety and Wellbeing plans across the business in line with company and group policy.
  4. Be an expert in Health, Safety and Wellbeing legislation and best practice to assist with compliance and continuous improvement.
  5. Support the development of briefing and communication strategies to ensure that HSW plans and important information are understood and operated by all employees and subcontractors.
  6. Monitor HSW performance by supporting the development of measurement systems.
  7. Liaise with employees, subcontractors and suppliers on HSW matters.
  8. Promote company values in all dealings with other employees, clients, subcontractors and other external contacts.
  9. Follow prescribed procedures whilst carrying out high quality and systematic audits and site inspections to establish the degree of compliance and identify opportunities.
  10. Monitor the progress of HSW Reviews, audits and site inspections within prescribed timescales.
  11. Monitor and update records on the HSW online platforms.
  12. Participate in and support training and other Health, Safety and Wellbeing initiatives to facilitate consistent standards and promote best practice.
  13. Work with the central HSW Team to identify possible operational risks or opportunities and support and carry out accident investigations by gathering evidence.
  14. Be involved in engagement and leadership initiatives in accordance with the Safety Management System.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  1. Detailed knowledge of Health, Safety and Wellbeing Legislation and CSCS card.
  2. Ability to carry out detailed, thorough and systematic analysis.
  3. Skilled in questioning and investigating to identify immediate, root or systematic facets of situations and root causes.
  4. Ability to explain HSW issues tactfully to project teams and other departments in Ferrovial.
  5. Ability to build rapport and effective working relationships with project teams and other departments in Ferrovial.
  6. Accident Investigation training.
