Job Summary

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Clinical Facilitator to join our expanding Neonatal Education Team. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in supporting the education and development of non-registered staff and junior staff within the neonatal unit.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Supporting and facilitating clinical learning in the neonatal unit and other local areas to identify learning opportunities that enhance the quality of care for babies.
  • Facilitating multi-disciplinary and inter-departmental learning and simulation activities.
  • Acting as a resource and role model for staff on all aspects of clinical education.
About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly knowledgeable and skilled neonatal nurse to join our team and contribute to the development of our education program. As a Clinical Facilitator, you will have the opportunity to work closely with the Lead Educator and other clinical facilitators to support the education of non-registered staff and junior staff within the neonatal unit.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Professional or Non-registered support worker etc.
  • Professional knowledge acquired through degree education or equivalent experience.
  • Mentoring/coaching/education qualification to postgraduate diploma level or equivalent evidence of supporting learners in practice.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development.
  • Significant experience within the relevant field.
  • Neonatal Qualified in Specialty Qualification.
  • Neonatal Life Support Qualification.
  • Experience of educating others in a formal or informal setting.
  • Broad awareness of Trust initiatives/pressures.
