Executive Chef

We are seeking an experienced Chef to join our kitchen team at Wellesley Hospital in Wellington, Somerset.

The successful candidate will work 37.5 hours a week crafting daily meals for service users, staff, and visitors. • Support the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, maintaining good food storage procedures and stock rotation according to established procedures.
• Prepare, plan, and cook meals to a consistently high standard, taking account of special requests or dietary requirements.
• Serve food and beverage with a professional and courteous service manner, preparing foods for conferences and banquets.
• Participate in food costings through effective cost control procedures, adhering to 'Safer Food Better Business' standards and record keeping.
• Adhere strictly to Food Hygiene Regulations and other safety procedures, taking full shift responsibility for the catering operation.
• Assist the Head Chef in researching and creating new menus, ensuring meals meet healthy eating guidelines.

• Be 18 years or older.
• Hold GCSE or equivalent English.
• Possess City & Guilds 706/1 and 2 (or equivalent) Basic Food Preparation Cooking qualification.
• Have Basic Food Hygiene certification (essential), Intermediate Food Hygiene desirable.
• Demonstrate menu planning, costing, ordering, stock control, and budget experience.
