Rail Freight Contracts Specialist

At Aurizon, we are seeking a skilled Rail Freight Contracts Specialist to support the development of new rail and containerised freight terminals across Australia.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will manage contracts where Aurizon is either the provider or recipient of services and materials, ensuring that all contracted services are delivered with a focus on best practices, business excellence, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the flexible, cost-effective delivery of services and materials, with a focus on quality, added value, timely performance, and a strong commercial and customer focus.
  • Continuously improve and grow the delivery or purchasing systems to enhance business outcomes.
  • Maintain a high level of contract governance and meticulous record-keeping.
  • Effectively manage customer and supplier relationships for both internal and external contracts.
  • Achieve KPIs and lead business improvement projects to enhance contract performance.
  • Oversee contract and system updates, ensuring smooth transitions and alignment with evolving standards.
  • Align contractor systems and performance with internal and external standards and obligations.

About You:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in contract administration (mandatory).
  • Intermediate level of SAP experience.
  • Intermediate level of Excel experience.
  • High level of skill in contracts management.
  • High level of skill in project management.
  • High level of skill in relationship management.
  • High level of skill in procurement.
  • Substantial level of skill in asset management systems.
