Assistant Farm Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage day-to-day farm operations, including drilling, seeding, and harvesting, to ensure efficient and effective crop production.
  2. Lead a small team of farm operatives, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth workflows and high-quality results.
  3. Manage budgeting and cost control, as well as the recruitment and training of new staff, to optimize farm performance and productivity.

Requirements:

  1. Proven experience in farming, particularly in fresh produce, with a strong background in field vegetables like carrots or parsnips.
  2. Leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team to achieve high-quality results.
  3. A full UK driving licence, to enable travel to and from the farm and other locations as required.
  4. Basic IT skills, to manage farm paperwork and purchase orders efficiently.
