About the Role

This is a 12-month contract opportunity to join our team as a Nuclear Safety Regulation and Interface Engineer. As a key member of our Nuclear Safety and Regulation Department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with statutory and contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support and independent advice to relevant business teams on the requirements of the Nuclear Site Licence, Authorisation, and Environmental Permits.
  • Support and advise on the framework of arrangements to demonstrate compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, principles, and standards governing nuclear and radiation safety and associated protection of the environment.
  • Support the delivery, maintenance, and storage of key documentation required in support of Licences, Authorisations, and Permits.
  • Support the ongoing development, review, and maintenance of management arrangements/documentation owned by the department.
  • Support and advise on the deployment of interface arrangements between the business and external regulatory authorities (ONR, DNSR & EA).
Requirements
  • Stakeholder management experience, working and interfacing with various stakeholders, including contractors, regulators, and directors.
  • Experience of technical/report writing and persuasive written argument.
  • Experience of providing technical advice.
  • Ability to understand and interpret regulatory requirements.
Desirable Skills and Experience
  • Experience in a high-hazard regulated industry (nuclear preferred).
