About the Role

The Wenlock School is seeking a dedicated Maths Teaching Assistant to work closely with individual pupils who require 1:1 staff support. These students face multiple social, emotional, and learning challenges, including speech and sound disorders, disordered expressive language skills, and concentration difficulties. The post holder will work in a predominantly education-based setting, supporting the students' learning and well-being, and also collaborate with relevant agencies to provide a holistic approach to their care.

Key Responsibilities

The Maths Teaching Assistant will be responsible for:
  • Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils and young people;
  • Working in accordance with professional practice, statutory and legal requirements, and the policies of The Wenlock School;
  • Assisting with the day-to-day administration and organisation of the school;
  • Supporting specific areas of work, which will be reviewed annually and negotiated as part of the performance management cycle and school improvement process;
  • Undertaking additional responsibilities as determined by the school.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:
  • Experience working in a SEND school;
