As a Senior Audit Supervisor, you will oversee a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring effective communication between the client and the audit team. Your primary focus will be on managing engagements and guiding team members to provide outstanding client service and deliver high-quality audits. You may also play a role in managing the team and department, and potentially engage in non-audit projects as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance:

  • Exhibit and foster a strong commitment to audit quality and professional standards, staying abreast of future developments and their implications.
  • Oversee quality and manage risks at the engagement level while maintaining a focus on superior service delivery.
  • Utilize innovative ideas and tools to promote technical excellence within the team.

Client and Project Oversight:

  • Identify challenges, propose solutions, and reach agreements with clients and senior management.
  • Monitor the progress of each audit engagement, keeping clients and senior management informed.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and senior management regarding any issues that may affect delivery timelines.
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with clients through proactive communication throughout the year.
  • Build credibility by understanding client sectors and their competitive landscape.
  • Ensure clients receive exceptional service that exceeds their expectations.

Team Leadership:

  • Take charge of mentoring and developing junior team members, providing training as necessary.
  • Offer timely, constructive feedback to team members, both informally and through formal assessments.
  • As the Appraiser for junior staff, manage their appraisal process effectively.
  • Complete assigned administrative tasks, such as timesheet approvals and recruitment recommendations, by established deadlines.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Establish and nurture professional relationships with clients.
  • Fulfill client service requirements to the highest standards.
  • Plan and allocate client-related tasks to meet internal and external deadlines.
  • Ensure adherence to budgetary constraints and timelines for assignments.
  • Collaborate with other departments as needed to meet client needs.

Decision-Making:

  • Demonstrate a strong sense of pride in your work, taking responsibility and showing initiative.
  • Balance autonomy with the need to keep Directors informed about job progress and client requirements.
  • Exercise a high degree of independence while adhering to established firm procedures.

Business Development:

  • Prepare proposals for new business opportunities.
  • Participate in relevant marketing events.
  • Present at seminars as required.
  • Engage in client segment focus group meetings.
  • Build personal networks and identify opportunities for Evelyn Partners with existing clients.

Qualifications:

  • Possession of an accounting qualification such as ACA, CA, or ACCA.
  • Extensive external audit experience in a professional services context at the managerial level.
  • Experience in reviewing a variety of accounting assignments under relevant standards.
  • Proficient in overseeing statutory audit assignments compliant with international standards.
  • Experience working with entrepreneurial, OMB, SME, and AIM-listed clients.
  • Demonstrated interest in business development activities.
  • Exceptional analytical and logical skills, along with strong technical competence.
  • Excellent planning abilities to ensure high standards of client care within tight deadlines.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of accounting and auditing standards and their applications.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and colleagues.
  • A collaborative spirit, capable of training junior staff and addressing their development needs.
  • Proficient IT skills.

Desirable Skills:

  • Exposure to IFRS is a plus, but not mandatory.
