About the Role
The Befriender 'In Home' Volunteer will play a vital role in providing companionship to someone we support in their home, spending quality time with them, and engaging in activities they enjoy. This may include chatting over a cup of tea, reading books, or playing board games.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide companionship and support to someone we support in their home
- Engage in activities that promote social interaction and a sense of community
- Develop a positive and supportive relationship with the person we support
- Respect the person's autonomy and independence
Requirements
- Be kind, empathetic, and friendly
- Have a good sense of humour and enjoy chatting
- Be punctual and reliable
- Be able to deal with information in line with our data protection and confidentiality procedures
