This role offers the perfect opportunity to take on a leadership position and coordinate the workload of a small team of HGV drivers.

As the Haulage Manager, you will be responsible for organizing logistics, planning routes, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the fleet.

Approximately half of your time will be spent in the office, where you will be responsible for planning logistics, communicating with customers, managing staff, and ensuring vehicles are properly maintained.

The remaining time will be spent driving, including providing holiday cover and supporting the rest of the team as needed.

Our client specializes in agricultural haulage, transporting machinery, grain, bales, and building materials on behalf of an established farming customer base.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage HGV drivers: assign workload, support, training, and disciplinary actions
  • Oversee logistics and planning
  • Liaise with haulage customers
  • Drive HGV when required
  • Ensure a high standard of health and safety
  • Organize vehicle maintenance with in-house mechanic
  • Vehicle administration
  • Generate haulage quotes

Requirements:

  • HGV Class 1 - Essential
  • Strong communication skills
  • Dynamic and adaptable
  • Organized and able to meet deadlines
  • Agricultural background (desirable)
  • Management experience (desirable)

The successful candidate will be rewarded with a competitive salary commensurate with experience.
