Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Tax Assistant to join our Corporate Accounting team at TÜV SÜD. As an integral member of our team, you will assist the Tax Accountant with the preparation of various State filings and Corporate Compliance Reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare state and local filings timely and accurately, including sales and use tax, annual reports, business licenses, unclaimed property, and 1099 forms.
  • Provide completed filing packages and payment confirmations to the Tax Accountant for review.
  • Resolve incoming tax notices, identify root causes, and follow up with tax authorities and third-party tax advisors.
  • Maintain and organize corporate documents and tax files in digital format.
  • Assist with tax research and special projects, including data preparation for transfer pricing review and year-end tax provisions.
  • Assist in sales tax review and manage billing process for Digital Academy.
  • Stay up-to-date with developments in the field of direct responsibility.
  • Assist with annual compliance reporting.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Tax or Finance required.
  • Experience with sales/use tax and 1099 filings desirable.
  • Strong Excel skills, including v-lookup and pivot tables.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven business environment.
  • Focused, detail-oriented, and organized.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • High level of confidentiality.
