About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Advisor to join our team at Porterbrook. This is an exciting opportunity to work with our experienced engineers and fleet support staff to provide expert advice on Mechanical and Powertrain systems.

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of powertrain – engines, transmissions, gearboxes, and mechanical systems. They will also possess Chartered or Incorporated Membership of Engineering Institution or be working towards this goal.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as Technical Expert on Mechanical and Powertrain systems, providing internal engineering consultancy, project partnering, and expert engineering advice to Fleet Services, Engineering Services, external stakeholders, and the wider business.
  • Lead or support technical investigations into equipment failures, support complex warranty claims and joint investigations.
  • Act as a technical project partner for allocated projects, in support of wider business objectives.
Requirements
  • Degree, HNC or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline.
  • Ideally Chartered or Incorporated Membership of Engineering Institution or working towards this goal.
  • Extensive knowledge of powertrain – engines, transmissions, gearboxes, and mechanical systems.
