Information Security Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Information Assurance Officer to join our team at Kuehne+Nagel. As a key member of our Government and Defence contract, you will play a critical role in ensuring the security and integrity of our information systems.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain comprehensive information security policies, procedures, and guidelines in line with ISO 27001 and customer security frameworks.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on information security matters, including risk management, vulnerability assessment, and incident response.
- Lead internal and external information security audits and reviews, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and customer obligations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement information security training and awareness programs, ensuring all staff are equipped to handle sensitive information.
- Manage security incidents, conducting thorough investigations and preparing detailed reports.
- Develop and maintain the security risk register, identifying and mitigating potential threats to our information systems.
- Engage with external customers, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure contractual, regulatory, and operational requirements are met.
- Proven experience in information security, with a strong understanding of ISO 27001 and customer security frameworks.
- CISM or equivalent certification, with membership of the Institute of Information Security Professionals (IISP) or British Computer Society (BCS) at Associate or Full member.
- CompTIA Security+ Certification is desirable.
- Experience of ISO 27001 implementation or lead auditor certification.
- Understanding and experience of HMG information, physical, and personnel security requirements.
- Demonstrable experience in technical information security, including operating systems, application, and network security.
- Ability to gain HMG SC clearance, or willingness to undergo SC vetting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with key stakeholders.
