Performing Arts Technical Manager / Stage and Set Lead Technician


A highly skilled individual with experience in performance arts, drama, theatre, and/or current multimedia technology is required for a well-established Academy Trust based in Southampton.

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent (term time only)

Working Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 8.30pm, term time only (39 weeks). Flexibility will be required when there are performance weeks/evening events.
We are seeking a talented Performing Arts Technical Manager / Stage and Set Lead Technician to join our team.

In this role, you will complement the current team, driving the use of new technologies and performing arts across the curriculum.

As a large secondary school with an active student technical team, the Performing Arts Technical Manager / Stage and Set Lead Technician will ideally have some experience working with young people/students, although this is not essential.

Your duties and responsibilities as the Performing Arts Technical Manager / Stage and Set Lead Technician will include:
Leading technical support for school staff and students using the school performing arts facilities including the stage and auditoriums.
Ensuring the appropriate operation of all lighting and sound equipment for school and community performances.
Advising and providing technical support for Community groups/individuals using the centre and other community facilities, where appropriate.
Taking overall responsibility for the development and training of students on site as a technical crew for productions.
Managing the inventory usage of the main hall and auditoriums.
Providing technical support across the school as and when required.

Monitoring the effective use of school performing arts equipment and ensuring all jobs are booked into the CA techs ticketing system.
