At Kier Group, we're seeking a highly skilled Highway Asset Manager to join our Transportation team in Birmingham. As an integral part of our engineering team, you'll be responsible for leading teams of technical staff to manage highway assets, including carriageways, footways, bridges, and street lighting.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional to take on a challenging role in managing highway assets. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Managing surveys and inspections of highway structures, carriageways, and footways, ensuring compliance with current codes of practice and industry best practices.
  • Developing and managing programs of work for carriageways, footways, street lighting, bridges, and other highway assets.
  • Maintaining highway asset data on the Confirm information management system.

You'll also be responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant standards, codes of practice, and data quality management. Additionally, you'll complete monthly management reviews demonstrating KPI achievements and liaise with client officers at Birmingham City Council and Birmingham Highways LTD.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A degree or qualification in an engineering specialism with knowledge of relevant legislation and Codes of Practice.
  • Good knowledge of the Birmingham highway network and a current full driving license.
  • The ability to manage and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

What We Offer
