Communications Officer

We are partnering with an international animal welfare charity to find their new Communications Officer, who will deliver and support the charity's press, communications, and campaigns projects.

This remote-based role (with ad-hoc travel to London) will ensure the charity's work is in the global news agenda, raising awareness and understanding, and generating income activities.

The Communications Officer will deliver local, national, and international PR, both online and offline, and will report into the newly appointed Head of Communications and Campaigns.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing effective communications strategies
  • Managing press and media relations
  • Creating engaging content for various channels
  • Collaborating with the Head of Communications and Campaigns to achieve organizational goals

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Communications Officer who has:

  • Knowledge of charity/not-for-profit communications
  • Knowledge of the UK media environment (including print, broadcast, and digital)
  • Experience working in a busy press or comms environment
  • An experienced writer who can produce persuasive and engaging copy
  • Experience of writing for the web and social media
  • An understanding of international development issues is highly desirable

Salary: £33,000

Full-time, permanent

26 days annual leave, plus bank holidays

Flexible working styles

Remote-based with travel to London head office (roughly twice a month) when required
