Job Overview

Barts Health NHS Trust is seeking a highly motivated Paediatric Continence Nurse to join their innovative community team. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a wide range of bladder and bowel dysfunction services for children and young people aged 4-19 years across Tower Hamlets borough.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of bladder and bowel problems in children and be able to provide specialist advice and training to patients, families, carers, and professionals. They will also be responsible for assessing the needs of individuals in the community and school settings, planning, implementing, and evaluating programmes of care.

Main Duties of the Job

  • Participate in the development of strategy for promoting and managing Continence across Barts Health NHS Trust.
  • Provide advice and training on the promotion of continence for individual patients, staff, and representatives of other statutory, voluntary, and private sector organisations.
  • Be responsible for assessing the needs of individuals in the community and school settings, who are experiencing bladder and or bowel dysfunction.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have a Registered Qualification Nursing Degree, ENB 998 or equivalent, and evidence of a range of clinical competencies appropriate for the role. They will also have post-registration experience, working within a community setting, and experience of working with a team environment and holding a caseload relating to Continence Care.
