Maintenance Engineer

As a Maintenance Engineer at Austin Banks, you will be responsible for carrying out planned service and maintenance work on both hire fleet and customers' equipment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing fault location, diagnosis, and rectification on hire fleet and customers' equipment.
  • Preparing equipment for hire and assisting in loading and unloading vehicles.
  • Maintaining tidy work areas through general housekeeping.
  • Completing and submitting all company paperwork as per procedure.
  • Safeguarding all Company assets and ensuring nothing leaves the depot without correct paperwork.
  • Promoting teamwork and co-operation within individual depots and across the Company.
  • Treating all employees and customers professionally and with respect.
  • Acting in the best interests of the Company.
  • Following safe working practices and adhering to Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental guidelines.
  • Contributing proactively to the company's policy of continuous improvement.
  • Carrying out any reasonable ad-hoc duties requested by your direct Line Manager or the Management Team.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work unsociable hours.
  • Good communication skills and ability to connect naturally with people.
  • Work well on own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Ability to ensure timely and effective completion of work.
  • Ability to follow company policy and procedures.
  • Ability to understand and implement written and verbal instructions.
  • Self-motivation.

Qualifications/Skills Required:

  • GCSE High School or equivalent.
  • Apprenticeship in Engineering.
  • City and Guilds Qualifications.
  • Forklift Truck Licence.

Experience Required:

  • Experience with generators/plant equipment/heavy engineering (or similar).
