Job Title: Primary Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at a Primary Pupil Referral Unit in Salford.

About the Role:

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a diverse group of students aged 3-11 who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, as well as associated needs such as Autism, ADHD, and SpLD.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the class teacher and providing individualized support to students who require additional help.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the class teacher in delivering lessons and providing individualized support to students
  • Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to students who are experiencing SEMH difficulties
  • Work collaboratively with other Teaching Assistants, management, parents, and outside agencies to ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment
Requirements:
  • Positive disposition with a teamwork nature
  • Able to adapt approach to meet the differing needs of each student in your class
  • Manage challenging behaviour and emotions
  • Working collaboratively with other Teaching Assistants, management, parents, and outside agencies
