Network Rail is a leading organization in the railway industry, responsible for the maintenance and development of the UK's rail network.
VacancyWe are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team in York or Derby. As a Project Engineer, you will play a key role in the delivery of projects across the Eastern Region, working closely with stakeholders and contractors to ensure successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Agree technical outputs with sponsors and stakeholders
- Provide technical discipline leadership
- Monitor competence of contractors' design, construction, and specialist personnel
- Identify and share best practice across project teams
- Carry out duties of designated project engineer (DPE) for specific projects
- Apply engineering controls and procedures to all projects, using relevant techniques and procedures of quantified and qualitative risk assessment and HAZOP analysis
- Implement Network Rail systems and procedures, monitoring all projects for compliance with Railway Group and Network Rail Company standards and project control procedures and construction design management (CDM) regulations
- Engineering experience relating to buildings, stations, civils, and structures within the railway environment
- A desire to help internal and external clients specify affordable outputs that can be delivered within their timescales
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to translate non-technical aspirations into clear, unambiguous engineering requirements
- Successful relevant experience in engineering disciplines, ideally with involvement in construction and design projects across multi-discipline areas
