Job Overview:
Morgan Ryder seeks an experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer to drive operational excellence in a high-performance industrial environment. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of mechanical systems.
About the Role:
As a seasoned engineer with 10+ years of experience in heavy industrial settings such as mines, quarries, or tunnels, you will lead the installation and maintenance of essential mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with industry legislation. Your expertise in conveyors, hydraulics, and large diesel plant will be invaluable in driving innovation and practical solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and uphold engineering standards to maintain equipment integrity and operational safety
- Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance plans, including shutdowns and contractor management
- Liaise with engineers, management, and external stakeholders to integrate cutting-edge technologies and cost-effective solutions
- Spearhead continuous improvement projects, focusing on CMMS system integration and strategic maintenance practices
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or completion of a Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship with 10+ years of experience
- Demonstrated leadership in multi-disciplinary team settings, ideally with experience in quarrying, mining, or similar heavy industries
- Strong safety management skills and a proactive approach to safety as a core value
- A track record of strategic problem-solving and ability to drive both innovation and practical solutions
