Job Overview

The Ministry of Justice is seeking a skilled Woodwork Instructor to join its team at HMP Full Sutton. As a Specialist Production Instructor, you will be responsible for providing supervision and guidance to prisoners in a specialist woodwork workshop. The ideal candidate will have relevant work experience in a production environment, strong communication and influencing skills, and the ability to assess accredited vocational qualifications.

The job holder will be responsible for setting work schedules, managing targets and quality standards, and maintaining delivery of contractual arrangements. They will also supervise and maintain discipline of prisoners within the workshop area, conduct metal detector scans or rub down searches, and provide quality assurance against product specifications.

The successful applicant will have Level 3 or equivalent in Woodwork related production, the ability to read and understand technical drawings, and may be a qualified NVQ assessor. They will also have experience of using industrial standard machinery and equipment.

The estimated salary for this position is £35,712 - £38,963 per annum, based on location and industry standards.
