We are seeking a highly skilled Mainframe Developer to join our team at Barclays Bank PLC. As a key member of our digital landscape, you will play a crucial role in driving innovation and excellence in our software development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Software Development
    • Design, develop, and improve software solutions using industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools.
    • Ensure code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Work with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements and devise solution strategies.
    • Ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
  • Technical Leadership
    • Collaborate with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
    • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations.
  • Security and Compliance
    • Adhere to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities and protect sensitive data.
    • Implement effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

  • Consult on complex issues and provide advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.
  • Identify ways to mitigate risk and develop new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
