Senior MRI Diagnostic Radiographer

At GenesisCare, we're seeking a highly skilled Senior MRI Diagnostic Radiographer to join our team at our state-of-the-art cancer care centre in Oxford. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting the 3T MRI service, ensuring operational objectives and clinical standards are met, and maintaining the reputation of GenesisCare for exceptional service and outcomes.
The Role:
As a Senior MRI Diagnostic Radiographer, you'll be responsible for:
- Liaising closely with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care.
- Following all duties as a health and care professions council (HCPC) registrant, adhering to standards of conduct, performance, and ethics.
- Creating a positive environment for diagnostic and radiotherapy staff to work effectively together as a team.
- Ensuring maintenance of safe and effective working practices, including equipment operation and systems in use.
- Providing the highest levels of service to patients, in line with GenesisCare's agreed expectations for scanning.
- Maintaining accurate and complete records of patient treatments, in line with GenesisCare's processes.
- Ensuring GenesisCare's clinical audit, radiation protection, and quality assurance requirements are met.
- Building and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, carers, clinicians, and colleagues.
- Supporting the ongoing improvement and continuous development of care and services across GenesisCare.
- Contributing to the growth and progress of MRI/cross-sectional imaging.
- Leading by example, taking an active clinical role in all areas of the patient pathway.
- Pro-actively maintaining own continuing professional development (CPD) in accordance with GenesisCare and HCPC professional standards.
- Ensuring flexibility in out-of-hours working to resolve breakdowns or crises with minimum impact to service and treatments.
What You'll Have:
We're looking for someone with:
- At least 2 years post-qualification experience with progressive development in that time.
- Experience in all aspects of MRI scanning to a very high level of competence.
- Evidence of empathetic and holistic approach to patient care.
- Good understanding of complaints process.
- Sound understanding of governance.
- Experience of proactively evolving MRI techniques.
- A wide range of clinical skills.
- Evidence of collaborative working.
- Evidence of effective organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Strong relationship building skills.
- Able to make judgments/decisions with the support of the lead Radiographer, ability to solve problems.
- Able to work flexibly to achieve GenesisCare business objectives.
Qualifications and Knowledge:
We require:
- DCR (R) or BSc (Hons) in Radiography (or equivalent).
- HCPC registration.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- A good level of understanding of the legislation relating to Ionising Radiation/Radiation Protection and Health & Safety.
- Knowledge of current trends and developments in radiography equipment and techniques.
- An awareness of UK Health Environment.
- Good understanding and knowledge of medical terminology and drug/medication names/disease pathways encountered in radiography/CT/MRI/mammography.
