Role Overview

South Park Enterprise College is an Independent SEMH Specialist School, offering an alternative curriculum to young people with a range of SEMH special educational needs. With a focus on providing a seamless approach to education, the school's curriculum offers a broad and balanced education adjusted to meet the needs of pupils with a wide range of abilities from KS3 to KS4.

The successful candidate will be responsible for mentoring, supporting and inspiring learners by supporting them with curriculum-based learning in the classroom, on home tuition and outreach, and through outdoor activities. This role also involves assisting with the preparation of learning material and contributing to the delivery of learning objectives, with a strong focus on behavioural management.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), has at least two years' experience minimum of working in a SEND environment, and possesses strong English and Maths skills. The ideal candidate would like the opportunity to support students outside of a mainstream environment and progress within the school, obtaining career-focused professional qualifications along the way.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mentor and support learners in their academic and personal development
  • Assist with the preparation of learning materials and contribute to the delivery of learning objectives
  • Provide daily reports on learners' progress and barriers to learning
  • Interact with parents/caregivers on a regular basis
