Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Materials Scientist to join our team at Roxel Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and manufacturing high-performance rocket motors and related systems.

The successful candidate will work closely with our scientists and engineers to research, develop, and understand key materials, supporting current and future applications. This will involve small-scale manufacture and testing of materials, as well as reporting on research findings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage materials (stocks, quality, performance, legislation) to meet strict design requirements.
  • Support, monitor, and improve associated manufacturing processes.
  • Monitor for material obsolescence and qualify replacements.
Requirements

Essential Qualifications

  • Higher-level qualification in a science-based subject, such as a Higher National Certificate (HNC) or Higher National Diploma (HND).
  • Degree in chemistry or materials science.

Experience

  • A genuine interest and aptitude in chemistry and materials science, with a high degree of self-motivation.

Person Specification

  • Genuine interest and aptitude in chemistry and its application to practical problems.
  • Report writing and presenting skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • The role is not lab-based, but some testing of materials may be required.
