We are a reputable collision repair centre located in Cornwall, Ontario, seeking an experienced Auto Body Technician to join our team. As an Auto Body Technician at J&A Collision Centre, you will be responsible for repairing and refinishing damaged vehicle bodies and parts.

Job Summary

The ideal candidate will have a background in mechanics and automotive repair, possess some mechanical knowledge, and be familiar with power and hand tools. This position involves working in a body shop setting and requires the ability to perform some heavy lifting tasks.

Responsibilities

  1. Repair and Refinish Damaged Vehicle Bodies: Utilize your skills and experience to repair and refinish damaged vehicle bodies and parts, ensuring a high-quality finish.
  2. Perform Body Panel Preparation: Sand, dismantle doors, and perform other necessary tasks to prepare vehicle bodies for repairs.
  3. Use Power and Hand Tools: Familiarize yourself with various power and hand tools to complete repairs efficiently and effectively.
  4. Inspect Vehicles for Collision Damage: Carefully inspect vehicles for collision damage, identifying areas that require attention.
  5. Follow Safety Protocols: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while working on vehicles, ensuring a safe work environment.
  6. Confirm Part Fitment: Verify part fitment is correct and flush to the vehicle, ensuring a seamless repair process.

Requirements

  1. Effective Communication: Work effectively with others, including colleagues and customers, to ensure smooth communication and efficient workflow.
  2. Power Tool Proficiency: Possess proficiency in using power tools and hand tools to complete repairs.
  3. Physical Demands: Be able to lift heavy objects as required, adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
  4. Auto Body Repair Experience: Ideally, have experience working in auto body repair, although this is not a requirement.
  5. Timed Guidelines: Ability to follow and work under timed guidelines, meeting deadlines and maintaining productivity.

Schedule and Pay

  • 8 hour shift, Monday to Friday, with no weekends.

Experience and Qualifications

  • 1 year of auto body repair experience, preferred but not required.

Language and Licenses

  • English language proficiency required.
