Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual to join our team as an Animal Care Assistant on a full-time basis. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for animal welfare and husbandry, who can work independently and as part of a team to maintain high standards of animal care.

Key Responsibilities:
Maintain high standards of animal welfare and husbandry
Undertake and record animal observations
Maintain daily record keeping and have good verbal and written communication skills
Work independently, as well as in a team environment
Adhere to all the park's protocols and procedures
Work outside in all weathers and be physically fit
Carry out basic enclosure furnishing and maintenance
Engage visitors throughout our open season, through our daily talks and interactions.

Requirements:
An animal-related qualification
Two years' paid experience working in an animal department within a zoo
Experience working with Category 1 Carnivores
Experience with operant conditioning and environmental enrichment
A full clean UK driving licence, due to our location
Great public speaking skills, and be confident in delivering educational talks and experiences to visitors

Salary and Benefits:
The salary for this position is £18,000 per year, which is at the rate of the national minimum wage. You will also receive 28 days paid holiday, split between our two seasons.
