We are seeking a highly skilled Employment Associate/Senior Associate to join our team at Sellick Partnership Limited - Private Practice in Manchester City Centre. As an integral member of our employment team, you will represent a diverse client base, from SMEs to PLCs, across various sectors. Your responsibilities will include preparing for employment tribunal cases, providing day-to-day support to HR teams, and drafting correspondence to the Employment Tribunal.

Key responsibilities:

  • Prepare for employment tribunal cases, including preparation of Claim/Response, Employment Tribunal Applications, and other relevant documentation.
  • Advocate in employment tribunals, representing our clients' interests.
  • Provide day-to-day support to HR teams, ensuring seamless service delivery.
  • Conduct HR project work on restructurings, redundancies, and TUPE, providing expert advice and guidance.
  • Draft correspondence to the Employment Tribunal, opposing solicitors, witnesses, ACAS, and clients, as required.
  • Offer general advice on employment law matters, including conduct of disciplinary investigations, grievance procedures, redundancy programs, and flexible working arrangements.
  • Support corporate functions as needed.

Requirements:

  • Experience in contentious and non-contentious employment law work.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges and responsibilities.
  • Commercial awareness and ability to provide expert advice.
  • First-class academic record and excellent training experience.
  • Enthusiasm and eagerness to develop and grow the business.
  • Strong teamwork ethic and outgoing disposition.
  • Drive, commitment, and self-motivation.
