Wilton Community Team - Wiltshire Health and Care

Full Time - Permanent

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our Wilton Community Team. As a Community Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to patients in their own homes, promoting health and independence.

Main Duties of the Job

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing skilled therapy care to residents within our geographical area
  • Working closely with General Practices, Social Services, and other statutory and non-statutory services to meet the needs of the local population
  • Supporting the development, implementation, and maintenance of high-quality safe and sustainable clinical and operational leadership
  • Participating in the weekend therapy rota and covering planned and urgent occupational therapy and physiotherapy assessments and treatment

Person Specification

Essential criteria include:

  • Up-to-date community experience
  • Case management experience
  • Significant experience of working with adults
  • Leadership experience
  • Teaching experience
  • Knowledge of recruitment, selection, and appraisal systems
  • Setting and monitoring standards of care

Desirable criteria include:

  • Profiling community needs and targeting identified health needs of the population
  • Evidence of innovative and flexible approaches to care and the organisation of care

Qualifications

Essential qualifications include:

  • Dip COT/BSc/BSc(Hons)/MSc OT
  • Registered as an OT with the Health and Care Professionals Council
  • Relevant postgraduate qualification
  • Teaching and assessing in clinical practice
  • Current, valid driving licence and competent driving skills

Desirable qualifications include:

  • Non-medical prescriber
  • Leadership and management training
  • Further qualifications relevant to community practice
