Lead Clinical Oncologist in Urology and Breast Cancer

We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic consultant to join our team in providing high-quality patient care, predominantly in urology, with breast cancer being desirable.
About the RoleThe new post holder will work at our two main sites at Peterborough City Hospital and Hinchingbrooke Hospital, with the option of working at Cambridge University Hospital. The role involves treating urological cancers and breast cancers in collaboration with existing clinical and medical oncology consultant colleagues.
A significant benefit of this post is a £7000 signing-on bonus, with 50% paid upon commencement and the remainder after six months in post. This is in addition to a competitive salary.
Key Responsibilities- To develop the Trust's strategy in partnership with the chair of the multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings leads and participate actively in the urology and breast cancers MDTs.
- To develop and participate in collaborative initiatives, studies, and trials regionally, nationally, and internationally, prioritizing clinical effectiveness and evidence-based medicine.
- To collaborate with colleagues at the Regional Cancer Centre and other agencies to ensure optimal quality of care for cancer patients, including referring patients to phase I trials.
- To provide a comprehensive oncology service, collaborating with other oncologists on inpatient care, referrals, and outpatient treatment.
- Active participation in clinical audit, continuing professional development, and research as appropriate.
- Out-of-hours participation in the consultant on-call rota, comprising telephone advice for Peterborough City Hospital on a 1:9 basis.
- Professional supervision and training of junior medical staff.
- Responsibilities for teaching, examination, and accreditation duties, contributing to undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing professional development activities locally and nationally.
