We are seeking an experienced EHS Director to lead our Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) function across the GB&I business. As part of the Suntory Beverage and Food Europe Zero Harm program, this role will drive the safety culture and accelerate the zero-harm mindset throughout the GB&I business.

Main Responsibilities:

  • EHS Leadership: Define and maintain the highest level of operational EHS standards, ensuring compliance with internal and external standards, regulatory requirements, environmental permits, and associated monitoring programs.
  • EHS Strategy Development: Develop and implement mid- and long-term EHS strategic plans for the GB&I business.
  • Incident Management: Lead effective decision-making, communication, and Root Cause Analysis investigations for EHS incidents.
  • Capital Investments: Ensure that capital investments align with EHS requirements, demonstrating project ownership, leadership, and execution.
  • Contracted Services: Manage security, contracted services, and waste management at the Coleford manufacturing plant.
  • Supply Chain Sustainability: Lead the GB&I supply chain sustainability program to achieve 2030 targets, including Carbon Net Zero, waste, and water reduction goals.
  • Budget Ownership: Manage an annual budget of ~£2.5M for EHS, contracted services, and safety training.
  • Talent Management: Foster employee engagement, development, talent management, and succession planning within the EHS function.

Requirements:

  • Operational EHS Experience: Proven experience in operational EHS leadership, preferably within a FMCG role.
  • Sustainability Expertise: Demonstrated expertise in Environment, Health, and Safety & sustainability management, supported by NEBOSH Level 6, IEMA, or other relevant qualifications.
  • Strategic Planning: Experience in defining and implementing EHS strategies within industrial settings.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead incident management and use data to facilitate risk-based EHS decision making.
  • Waste Management: Experience in managing effective and efficient waste and recycling operations.
  • Budget Management: Proven track record of budget ownership and management.
