Job Title: Lead Mechanical Engineer

Astute's Power team is partnering with a leading Power Company to recruit a Lead Mechanical Engineer for a traveling role around their UK sites.

Job Summary

The Lead Mechanical Engineer will work with the site teams on outage, managing a scope of work and ensuring it is completed in a timely manner. The role involves managing own scope of work, working on Mechanical equipment such as Boilers, Turbines, HRSG (Heat Recovery Steam Generators) and associated plant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reporting to the Asset Support & Outage Team Leader
  • Working with site teams on outage, managing scope of work and ensuring timely completion
  • Managing own scope of work, including working on Mechanical equipment such as Boilers, Turbines, HRSG and associated plant
  • Acting as technical authority in relation to design standards, codes of practice and legislation
  • Execution of site mechanical projects safely and within budget
  • Developing asset management strategies
  • Identifying areas of improvement across the plant to increase efficiency
  • Ensuring maintenance plans and targets for the team are achieved safely, on time and within budget and to the correct quality within the environmental limits of the station
  • Directing and supervising on-site contractors
  • Ensuring HSE compliance at all times
Requirements
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Previous experience in Mechanical maintenance or engineering in a heavy process environment
  • Significant experience working with specific equipment including HRSG / Boiler / Welding
  • Safety qualification such as IOSH / NEBOSH or equivalent

  • Able to work alone as well as part of a team
  • Organised with strong attention to detail

Basic salary up to £75,000
