About the Role

As an Operational Specialist at SaluteMyJob, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of our camps.

Your primary responsibility will be to manage the daily planning and delivery of our camps, including the safe and efficient setup and maintenance of the estate site.

Key duties include:

  • Leading a team comprising a Recruitment and Course Coordinator and Runner(s)/Maintenance
  • Overseeing the day-to-day running and logistics of the estate, including deliveries and maintenance to guarantee all camps are well-stocked with required food and equipment
  • Managing and monitoring the cleaning, checking, and maintenance of estate vehicles
  • Supporting and inspiring Camp Leaders, Tribe Leaders, and Field Cooks, providing constructive feedback where necessary
  • Coordinating staff, including proactive future shifting and reactive on-the-day reshuffling to account for sickness and absence
  • Managing central kitchen staff and coordinating food deliveries, purchases, and compliance
  • Serving as the first point of contact for any staff or teacher complaints
  • Maintaining working relationships with the Estate team, i.e., Head of Estate, Forestry Manager, and with external contractors
  • Organizing, tracking, and coordinating all estate purchases, as well as ensuring bulk orders or equipment replacements are requested in a timely manner
  • Organizing an on-site training team to contribute to and facilitate a centrally designed training syllabus
  • Ensuring appropriate training courses are planned and delivered in a timely manner according to recruitment cycles
  • Delivering Safeguarding training
  • Acting as Safeguarding Lead for the estate, ensuring any incidents are dealt with in line with Safeguarding Policy
  • Acting as Health and Safety Lead for the estate, ensuring any incidents are dealt with in line with Health & Safety Policy
  • Ensuring all Accidents and Incidents are recorded in accordance with Health & Safety processes. Monitoring and advising on all first aid incidents. Coordinating hospital runs.
  • Communicating any estate issues to senior managers daily
  • Maintaining consistent high standards of delivery, staff, and the estate environment

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum, depending on experience

Requirements:

  • A full UK driving licence
  • A proven track record in an operational role
  • A strong people management background, ideally with an understanding of the challenges of training and development of seasonal staff
  • Highly organized and able to ensure relevant paperwork is completed effectively
  • Effective communication skills with a range of stakeholders, including children, teachers, staff, contractors, and senior management
  • Self-motivated with both discipline and a positive can-do attitude to effectively manage your workload while out on camp
  • Tenacious – because peak season will get busy – with resilience and determination to get the job done
