Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our pharmacy team as a Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

As a Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for assisting pharmacists and pharmacy technicians with dispensing prescriptions, processing orders, and providing excellent customer service to patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Dispensing of prescriptions for inpatient, outpatient, and discharge medication
  • Participating in pharmacy reception duties, including responding to telephone calls and visitors, and inputting prescriptions onto the electronic tracking system
  • Processing and assembling orders of stock items for wards, departments, and other hospitals
  • Checking inpatient prescriptions and identifying medication that requires dispensing
  • Providing daily ward visits and determining the suitability of Patient Own Drugs (PODs) against agreed criteria for re-use and referral to the pharmacy clinical team

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate who has a minimum of 4 GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths, English, and one Science subject. You should also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to work effectively in a team.
